Top Ernesto Proposals of 2023

What a year 2023 has been! As one of the country’s leading jewellers, we’ve had the privilege of hearing about many proposals that involved our engagement rings across Australia.
All three of our boutiques have had the honour of assisting countless happy couples in taking the next step in their relationship. Our exclusive range of engagement rings has played a vital role in many proposals over the last 12 months.
Join us as we celebrate just some of the proposals we have had the pleasure of taking part in this year.
Eliana and Kristofer
Incredibly dreamy, Kristofer popped the question to his partner Eliana in a stunning backyard set-up earlier in March. Straight from a movie, the lush backyard was transformed with a luxury set-up created by Styled By Els.
The proposal featured red roses, petals, hurricane candles and clear balloons surrounding a long red carpet that led to a massive floral heart formation. The cherry on top, Kristofer got down on one knee, proposing with a breathtaking design from Ernesto Buono.
Farhan and Roza
Talk about an enchanting garden! The ultimate spot for a proposal, Farhan decided to take the next step in a beautiful garden set-up with the help of My Proposal Co.
This compelling set-up included a white runner decorated in beautiful pink flowers, leading to a round arch wrapped in ribbon with a ‘Will You Marry Me?’ sign hanging in the middle. Utterly romantic, he picked one of our classic oval engagement rings to ask the beautiful Roza the big question.
Elias and Daniella
A park picnic turns into a surprise proposal. Elias treated Daniella with an elegant set-up under a tree in January. With big box letters spelling our ‘Marry Me’, Elias knelt to ask the big question.
An array of flower bouquets created a path leading up to the shady spot. Next to the set-up sat a table with an impressive bouquet of classic red roses, a photo of the happy couple and champagne to celebrate. Proposing with a beautiful, radiant cut and diamond band design, it would always be a yes!
Jordan and Jaycee
Does it get any better than a holiday proposal?! Jordan chose the tropical Bali getaway as the perfect moment to propose to his partner, Jaycee. During an intimate moment on their balcony overlooking the beach, Jordan got down on one knee as he proposed to his partner.
Revealing a gorgeous band and a half design, the yellow gold ring featured a diamond-set band. The band continues without the diamonds, wrapping around the finger to reveal the main marquise cut stone at the very top. Incredibly modern, this ring is truly one of a kind.
Vishal and Rachel
A courtyard proposal worthy of a fairy-tale, Vishal organised a stunning proposal through the help of My Proposal Co. Underneath a rustic path of vines, Vishal got down on one knee to ask for Rachel’s hand in marriage.
The set-up included a pristine white runner surrounded by candles and a mix of white and purple flowers. Add a spectacular round diamond halo engagement ring, Rachel couldn’t have asked for a more memorable proposal.
Anthony and Daniela
An enchanting winter proposal, Anthony asked his partner, Daniela, the big question whilst on their snowy getaway. A picture-book-worthy proposal, the scene took place on a snowy mountain with a beautiful backdrop of mountain landscape.
The dream didn’t finish at the location – Anthony pulled all the stops, picking an exquisite Ernesto Buono design with a classic radiant cut solitaire design. Truly a beautiful proposal!
Jordan and Jaycee
Beautiful weather and an iconic location; Joe pulled off the ultimate Sydney proposal when asking for Zara’s hand. On a sunny day in Sydney, the couple took to the waters of Sydney Harbour on a luxury boat where Joe proposed.
Selecting an oval cut engagement ring from Ernesto Buono, the ring featured diamond shoulders and a four-prong setting for the main stone. A clear blue sky, the diamonds glimmered in the sunlight as it adorned Zara’s hand for the first time.

Ernesto Buono
Ernesto Buono is an Italian‑trained master jeweller and the founder of Ernesto Buono Fine Jewellery, a bespoke jewellery atelier based in Parramatta, New South Wales. He discovered his passion for jewellery making at age 17, honed his craft at Italy’s Accademia delle Belle Arti and later at the Enmore Design Centre TAFE in Sydney, and has spent over two decades creating custom engagement rings, wedding bands and fine jewellery that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
